Little Friends Pet Sitting and Dog Walking (LFPS) is a Charlotte, NC pet care company that has specialized in delivering pet sitting and dog walking services since 2011. When LFPS approached Splurge in 2021, they were aiming to recover from revenue lost during the pandemic, while also looking to position themselves for long-term success against increasing competition from local and nationwide competitors. LFPS's website was struggling with slow loading speed and missing the unique value-adds and modern experience that could differentiate LFPS in a crowded market. Plus, their brand had not been touched since the business founding, and it was clear that their brand presence needed a refresh.
After researching and benchmarking Little Friends’ major local and national competitors, and meeting with the client to discuss their marketing needs and preferences, we got to work recreating a brand that would supplement the value they were offering. Our rebranding strategy included a new color scheme and a logo overhaul, a change that transformed the design and approachability of the brand. We also implemented a new social media strategy showcasing the content that their audience loves to see: creative colors, fun and interesting information, and adorable pets.
Next, we looked to redesign the LFPS for a high-converting and intuitive user experience. We began with an in-depth SEO analysis and built a strategy that would move LFPS up the ranks of Google against a sea of competitive options. Then, we implemented the SEO strategy into a complete redesign of their website, elevating the user experience to the level of ease and reliability that the business itself was offering.
Through these coordinated marketing efforts and others, we transformed the Little Friends website and user experience, helped them reach a better targeted audience, and increased brand awareness online. With continuous results monitoring and reporting, we’ve worked with Terry and the team at LFPS to increase web traffic, leads, ad impressions, brand awareness and social media reach that continues to pay off for the business.
We gave Little Friends a complete branding and website overhaul, then incorporated a more unified brand voice and design to connect LFPS with the customers that were seeking them.
Here are some aspects of the Little Friends digital marketing strategy:
A stronger, more modern identity
We knew that Little Friends needed a brand identity that better matched the personality and goals of the business and its team. We helped reinvigorate the brand with a fresh new color palette that translated well to a digital audience and through print materials. Once we settled on the right colors and design elements, everything fell into place.
Designing a website that worked for dog owners
One of the most intricate and important tasks of this rebranding and marketing project was in designing and rolling out a more user-friendly and functional website. The user experience needed a major upgrade and the original site had loading and speed issues for some users. We developed a more streamlined, functional website where browsers could easily find what they needed, and enjoy the new brand experience along the way.
Showcasing pets and personality on social media
We knew this client had a good opportunity to showcase their services on social media, because who doesn’t love to see pets? However, their existing social media content was not unified and didn’t represent the brand voice and personality the way we knew it could. We created a content strategy that included short video content, which helped unify the brand voice and reach Charlotte pet parents who were seeking the services LFPS had to offer. LFPS saw an increase of more than 1,000 Instagram followers and increased brand awareness with 2800% more organic reach Instagram reach.
Increasing clicks and credibility with our audience
Due to a competitor-crowded market, Little Friends was having trouble converting clicks to leads with their existing PPC and social media campaigns. After researching and refining their audience, we created better-structured and more enticing ads that increased their conversions quickly. Then, we created a landing page to help users navigate through the marketing funnel. Over the course of 3 months in 2022, LFPS saw 223 goal completions for their PPC landing page, bringing the cost per conversion to under $11 per new client acquired.
Helping their audience find compassionate pet care
We implemented a multi-part strategy in phases throughout the course of about one year, and continued to track data and responses to each of these changes as we moved ahead. Now with a fully optimized website, social media and content strategies, PPC and social campaigns, and web structure that just makes sense, Little Friends Pet Sitting has the brand and the personality to keep them growing for years to come.
